NK Maribor - FK Sarajevo 0:1 (0:0)
Not much happened during the first ten minutes of the clash between the Bosnian and the Slovenian teams, it was not until the 12th minute that the first opportunity arose when Sostarickaric took a shot at the middle of the goal but the ball was confidently caught by Sarajevo’s keeper. This was followed by another chance for Maribor, with Koblar’s header at close range, followed by a brilliant save by Topolovic. The game continued with the same intensity but neither team could really approach the opponent’s goal. After a somewhat long period without anything much to be recorded, in the 28th minute Mavcec decided to take a shot at the goal but Sarajevo’s keeper saved with confidence again. Hardly a minute had passed before the Slovenians had yet another chance, when Ficko galloped up in the right wing, Medved run up in the middle and then missed the goal by a few inches. The first Bosnian opportunity came about in the 34th minute when Sarajevo marked their presence in the pitch by a not too well crafted free kick. The first half was closed with a chance for Maribor, when Mavcec bombed the crossbar from 20 metres.
The first opportunity in the second half was created by Sarajevo but a Slovenian defender cleared away the ball before Resic, running up to the goal area, could have scored one. Like in the first half, there was a period without not much happening and the spectators had to wait until the last part of the match for the game to pick up speed. In the 65th minute Pidro took a shot at a tight angle, hitting the post. It was one minute to go when the only goal of the match was scored – the substitute Harun Agic received a good pass at the box line, took two steps and sent the ball calmly in the net, closing the game at 1-0 to Sarajevo.
