Galatasaray SK – FC Dinamo Bucharest 2-2 (0-2)

It did not take two minutes for Dinamo Bucharest to take the lead against Galatasaray in the opening match of the Future Talents Cup Group B series, when Trandafirescu sent the ball into the Turkish net from a cross from the right flank. Within another minute it was nearly made two, when Grigore broke alone towards the goal but he could not fire as the keeper came out of the goal and cleared. At the end of the 10th minute all eyes were set on Trandafirescu again when he snatched the ball outside the box and sent it a little over the crossbar. This was followed 3 minutes later by the first Galata chance when Bugra Kirmitaz blasted the ball rolling out after a corner kick, hardly missing the crossbar. Galatasaray could have levelled at the middle of the first half when Isik centreded from the right flank, right in the path of Kirmitaz, who would only have had to send it into the open goal but a Romanian defender cleared just in time. Three minutes before half time Dinamo doubled their lead, as Lucam entered the box alone, easing the ball smartly along the keeper into the net, making it 0-2.

The second half started with an opportunity for Galata, when Taskin fired wide from 10 metres. The 50th minute saw a goal from Galata when the Turks lead a superb counter-attack at the end of which the shot from Isik running up in the left wing was saved by the keeper, then Bilgin’s shot bounced off a defender but it ended up before Taskin who made no mistake from close range. Five minutes later there was a brawl after a goal was not granted because the ball had hit someone’s hand and then there was a little too hard clash between two players, in the end of which the two bullies, Taskin and Trandafirescu – both wearing the No. 9 shirt – were sent off by the referee. The 10 on 10 game suited the Turks better and in the 62nd minute Kirmitaz broke into the box with no defender to complicate his game, and sent the ball home past the keeper as he was running out to clear. This goal was followed by a few minor chance on both sides but the result remained unchanged. This truly high intensity game ended in a just draw.
